The Hub Developer Portal
Build on The Hub: let people sign in to your website with their Hub account, run bots that chat in spaces, and make themes and plugins for everyone through the community shop.
Open your dashboard to register apps and bots, get their keys and tokens, and make invite links. It uses your The Hub account: log in to The Hub in the same browser first.

When your plugin or theme is ready, send it to the community shop.
The API in one minute
Everything goes through one address, https://the-hub.coffee/app/api.php?action=<name>, and answers in JSON: {"ok": true, …}, or {"ok": false, "error": "a readable reason"} with an HTTP error status.
- Apps call it with a person's access token (
Authorization: Bearer vlo_…), limited to what they allowed. - Bots call it with their bot token (
Authorization: Bot vlb_…).
The API reference lists every action, and Bots explains the events bots receive.
Rules of the road
- Only ask for what you use. People see exactly what an app asks for before they allow it.
- Never ask for anyone's password, and never store tokens where others can read them.
- Bots and apps follow the same rules as people: no spam, no harassment, no scraping people's data.
- Plugins and themes in the shop are read by the people who run The Hub before they're published.
